Fishing Vessels

Our boats are well equipped and maintained in tip top condition at all times. Safety is # 1 with Cartwright Sound Fishing Charters. We comply 100% with all regulations set out by the Canadian Coastguard and Transport Canada.

The boats are 25 to 30 foot comfortable Cabin Cruisers equipped with:

RELENTLESS

Relentless is a custom-built 30’ North West Aluminum fishing machine! Powered with twin 225 hp Mercury Verados and twin Yamaha 9.9 kickers! This is truly the ultimate fishing vessel with nearly 100 square feet of cockpit and a heated cabin with spacious seating for up to 7 people. This boat can fish 3 or 4 people and family groups of up to 6.

This vessel is captained by Tom Klassen, the owner and operator of Cartwright Sound Charters. Tom has been guiding on the Queen Charlotte Islands / Haida Gwaii since 1991.

FISHFINDER

The FishFinder is a 26-foot custom-built fiberglass Osprey boat. This boat has provided transportation back to town for untold numbers of tyee-sized Salmon and barndoor Halibut. It is truly one of the most attractive boats in the area and set up to be an efficient fishing machine. It is powered by a 300-hp Mercury Verado and 9.9 Yamaha kicker.

Mark Banning captains this Vessel. Mark has been guiding since 1995 on both the Charlottes and Vancouver Island. When not guiding, Mark can be found pursuing his off-season passion of Steelheadfishing. Mark thinks like a fish and is fluent in many fish dialects.

WESTSIDER

The WestSider is a 25’ custom-built fiberglass Davis boat. This is one of those boats that can effortlessly put fish in the tub. It’s a very comfortable boat from which to fish, and our guests are always more than pleased with its fishability!

Ian Bateson captains this Vessel. Ian has been guiding for over 25 years on both the Charlottes and Vancouver Island. Ian spends his off-season fishing! He is either fishing for Steelhead, Winter Springs or bill fish in Mexico. One thing is for sure: Ian will be fishing. This passion shows in his continual success. Simply said, no one works harder than Ian at fishing or looking after guests!
